Johnsonville Brat Patties…I’ll admit, when I first saw them, I was not impressed with the idea. I didn’t buy any.
Today, one of those ladies was passing out postage stamp samples of them, and it had smelled so great from 3 aisles over, I tried it. I bought a box.
They were that good.
At home, I broiled them until they were nicely browned, topped them with a slice of American cheese, and used them to crown a bakery burger bun. It was divine.
Sure, I could have bought a complete ready-to-eat fast food burger cheaper.
I could have had a plain beef, turkey, or pork burger from scratch cheaper too..
But heck, this is Memorial Weekend, that has burgers and hot dogs nearly a requirement for food. If you want a burger to impress, one that slaps your dining guests and says “wow, you are really special, and I’m so glad you joined us!” The Johnsonville brat burgers will get the job done.
A lot of pre-made burgers just fail to live up to their promise. The brat burger doesn’t even settle for an average performance, it goes over the top. There is little shrinkage, it browns beautifully, it stays together, it’s juicy, it’s well seasoned and above all…it’s almost fool proof.
Add a slice of your favorite cheese, some really great buns, (can we say kaiser rolls anyone?) toppings, and condiments…voila! Instant gourmet barbecue! What to serve alongside? Try your favorite pasta or potato salad, a green salad, or even a fruit salad. Keep it simple, the brat burgers will shine enough for the entire meal!
