The steamed chocolate pudding didn’t get rave reviews on the first effort. It wasn’t sweet enough, was too dry, and just didn’t measure up on a number of counts. So, we look at the recipe, and we decided the sugar needs increasing and the flour needs decreased slightly.
Steamed Chocolate Pudding
- 2 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
- 1/2 c. margarine
1 c.self rising flour 3/4 c.
3 tbsp Hershey’s Special Dark cocoa powder
- 3/4 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
½ tsp vanilla
1/2 c.packed brown sugar 3/4 c. 1/4 c.sugar 1/2 c.
3/4 c. milk
We’re using essentially the same combination of ingredients, just tweaking it to adjust for the lack of sweetness and the excessive dryness of the pudding. I’ll let everyone know how the new & improved version of the original tweaked recipe goes! I’m not going to steam this combo tonight, so it will be a day or two before I pass a verdict.
