One holiday treat that just refuses to be categorized is the bourbon ball. Is it a no bake cookie or an easy candy?
Either way, no cookie tray is complete without a few of these added to the mixture. Delicious and easy, they are a no-fuss quick addition to the holiday spread. There will also not be any leftovers!
- 2 tbsp. cocoa
- 1 c. sifted powdered sugar
- 1 oz. melted semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/4 c. bourbon
- 2 tbsp. light corn syrup
- 2 c. finely crushed vanilla wafers
- 1 c. finely chopped pecans
- additional powdered sugar
Combine cocoa and sugar. Combine corn syrup and melted chocolate, add bourbon. Add bourbon mixture to cocoa mixture and stir well. Add pecans and wafer crumbs, stir to combine. Shape mixture into 3/4″ balls. Roll balls into powdered sugar to coat. Allow to dry before serving. Makes 3 dozen balls.
